The Rules of Rugby
Rugby is often referred to as the father of American football. There are quite a few similarities between football and rugby which led to an identity crisis of rugby initially. But rugby differs from football in a significant way, if we have a close look at the basic rules of rugby. Rugby is also played at a faster pace with continuous changes in the positions of the players. The players in the field have to kick as well as catch and pass the ball. The people taking part in the Rugby League betting follow the rules closely to adopt successful betting tricks. The basic rules of rugby are discussed below ufabet.
The ground for playing
A rugby match is played on a ground, referred to as the ‘pitch’. The pitch is long and broad- 100 meters by seventy meters. There is also an in-goal behind the goalposts. The goal posts are ‘H’ shaped and are mostly located on the goal line of the ground.
Rugby ball
The rugby ball is made of leather or some kind of a synthetic material that is easy to grip. The balls are oval in shape and come in various sizes. The balls are made in a way so that the erratic bounces seen in case of football are minimized.
Positioning of the players
Rugby League has thirteen players while the Rugby Union has fifteen players on the ground. In rugby the members of each team is numbered in a similar way. The number that each player gets is the signifier of his position, for example, the players numbered from one to eight are supposedly the stronger players of the team. The have the responsibility of getting possession of the ball. Players who get the numbers from nine onwards are supposed to be at the back. They are more agile and faster players.
Scoring
Scoring of the teams can be done in three ways, that is, the conversion method, penalty kick and the drop goal method. Rugby league betting can take place on the basis of any of the scoring patterns. Betters have to be very well informed about the players and team to earn profit.
Offside law
The offside is one of the most challenging aspects of a rugby game. The offside line continuously moves up and down the pitch in a rugby game. Offside line is not a penalty but an attempt to participate in the game from the backside.
The rules make it difficult for the new players as well as the new participants of the Rugby League betting to understand in the first place. However, the rules are unique and make the game entertaining to watch.
